Galerie SCENE OUVERTE presents Phantasmagoria
Two ceramic artists, in their very different practices, defy gravity and technique to create their own poetic worlds. Célia Bertrand presents two monumental lamps inspired by nature. She draws graphic lines in hammered iron softened by white-gold leaves applied by hand that lend a precious quality to this hard material.
Saraï Delfendahl makes the phantasmagoria become real. She takes the spectator into her imaginary world, sending us back to a forgotten kinship. Saraï, using the glaze like paint, introduces modernity. At once timeless and contemporary, imaginary and referent, her ceramics give the object of art a metaphysical dimension.
These creations—jubilant and terrestrial— remind us that clay is an archetypical material from the origin of the world.
Galerie SCENE OUVERTE is located in the heart of the 7th arrondissement in Paris. Conceived as a New York–style loft and real living space, the gallery presents new and well-known artists who create unique furniture and art objects in small editions, with a focus on ceramics. SCENE OUVERTE creates the link between contemporary creation and the requirement of absolute realization of the greatest craft. Above all, it defends scarcity and excellence.
