Mathieu Lehanneur presents Inverted Gravity

Appearances can mislead and our perceptions tend to lie to us! Apparent fragility can hide huge resistance, and what seems massive may be lighter than it appears. Mathieu Lehanneur reveals a new collection of furniture that reproduces this paradox of perceptions. Inverted Gravity is a magic tour of the real world. Placed on blown-glass globes, the monolithic and minimalist marble blocks look to be suspended. In a close dialogue with the Inverted Gravity collection, Lehanneur shows the Twisted Infinity suspension and the Bambou de Versailles parquet.

At the forefront of the international design scene, Lehanneur is one of the few designers of his generation who takes a multidisciplinary approach to creativity: from object to architecture, from artwork to product, from craftsmanship to technology, design is for the well-being of individuals. Ranked among one hundred of the top designers and influencers worldwide by Wallpaper* and Surface magazines, Lehanneur’s works are part of prestigious private and public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. His office collaborates with brands across a wide variety of sectors, including Nike, Audemars Piguet, Air France, and Sony. Lehanneur is currently working on the renovation of the Grand Palais, Paris, as well as his brand’s collections, a foldable electric bike, the interior design for hotels, stores, and public spaces, and technological and pharmaceutical design.
