After Notre-Dame: Reconciling the Past and Future in French Design

Wednesday, June 12th/

The recent, tragic fire at Paris's Notre-Dame has ignited fierce debates over the cathedral's future. Should the structure be rebuilt as it was, as the French Senate has decided, or should its reconstruction express other, more contemporary aspirations? French designers Odile Decq and Mathieu Lehanneur will offer their positions on the subject, and on the perennial tensions between history and innovation in French design.
